Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about this collection — sizing, compatibility, technique, and care.
What is the Audiotherm and how does it work?
The Audiotherm is a small acoustic assistant that clips onto any A by AMC lid. It senses pot temperature and plays a melody when the optimal cooking zone is reached — so you can leave the stove (do homework, take a call, set the table) and return to a pan that hasn't been overheated. It's the single accessory that most reliably changes how often people overcook food.
Do I need both Audiotherm and Visiotherm?
Visiotherm is the visible temperature gauge built into every A by AMC pot lid — it shows you the cooking zone at a glance while you're at the stove. Audiotherm is the acoustic version — it tells you when the zone has been reached without you having to watch. Most cooks use both: Visiotherm for active cooking, Audiotherm for hands-off cooking.
Will the EasyQuick lid work on my existing pots?
EasyQuick is sized to fit A by AMC Rondeau and Stock Pot in the matching diameter — that's where the seal that produces the 20% time saving comes from. It won't form a tight seal on third-party cookware. The Oval EasyQuick is the equivalent for the Oval Pan.
How does no-coating cooking actually work?
A by AMC cookware uses pure stainless steel — no PTFE, no PFAS, no coatings that can scratch off into food. The non-stick effect comes from technique, not chemistry: preheat the dry pan to the right temperature (Visiotherm shows you, Audiotherm tells you), and protein releases naturally once it has formed a crust. Compliant with California AB1200.
Are the smart devices battery-powered?
The Audiotherm uses a single replaceable battery that typically lasts 12–18 months of regular use; the device beeps when the battery is low. The Visiotherm is purely mechanical (bimetallic gauge) and never needs power.
