Akkutherm
The base of every A by AMC pot and pan is a multi-layer pressure-welded capsule called Akkutherm, built on 18/10 stainless steel construction engineered to resist warping for decades. It absorbs heat quickly from any stovetop, gas, electric, ceramic, or induction, and distributes it evenly across the entire cooking surface. No hot spots for food to burn. No cold zones for it to stall.
The handles run on a separate technology called Thermobloc, built to block heat rather than absorb it, so they stay cool while the base does the opposite job.
Because the Akkutherm base distributes heat evenly and the lid closes the cooking environment, very little energy escapes. Sensotherm
Sensotherm is the temperature sensing technology built into the Visiotherm. The Visiotherm is a display unit built into the knob of every A by AMC lid. The Sensotherm measures the temperature inside the closed cooking environment, not the heat coming from the burner below. That reading is what the Visiotherm display translates into something you can see in real time, without ever lifting the lid.

The display has two arcs. The left arc covers roasting and searing, marked with a meat icon. The right arc covers cooking with minimal water, with temperature readings running from roughly 140°F to 208°F. A single indicator moves clockwise across both arcs as the cooking environment heats up, showing exactly where you are in the process:
- Roasting window: on the left arc. When the indicator enters this zone, the pan has reached the perfect temperature to sear meat and poultry by initiating the Maillard reaction, the process where high heat causes proteins and natural sugars to interact, developing complex, savory flavors and a rich, golden-brown crust. When the indicator enters this zone, that is your signal to add the meat or poultry. As it continues to rise and reaches the turning point, a fixed marker at the top center of the display, that is the signal to flip. You watch the indicator, not the clock.
- Vegetable window: on the right arc, this is the zone where cooking with minimal water is at full effectiveness. Because the lid stays closed, the natural moisture in the food stays in the cooking environment rather than escaping, which means more of the food's vitamins and nutrients stay in it instead of leaching out into cooking water. - Stop window: at the very bottom of the right arc. When the indicator reaches this point the cooking environment is at maximum temperature. Reduce or turn off the heat immediately.
The Visiotherm unscrews from the lid and is dishwasher safe. It uses a magnet to transmit the temperature reading with no batteries and no charging required.

Hear When to Act: The Audiotherm

The Audiotherm clips onto the Visiotherm with a click. The Visiotherm tells you where you are in the cooking process visually. The Audiotherm translates that into action, displaying the actual current temperature in the pot, adding a countdown timer, and signaling acoustically at every stage when something needs to be done.
The middle button cycles through cooking programs. For meat and poultry, the searing program signals when the pan is hot enough to add food, then signals again at the turning point when it is time to flip. For vegetables and liquids, the cooking program lets you set a countdown timer using the plus and minus buttons. The timer can also be used with any cooking program where you want to track elapsed cooking time.
That timer only starts once the actual cooking temperature has been reached, not from when you pressed the button. Throughout the cook, the Audiotherm checks the temperature and signals with a specific alert if the heat needs to go up or down, keeping the cooking environment where it needs to be without you having to watch the stove.
The practical effect is that you can step away. The Audiotherm calls you back at the right moment, whether you are in the next room or setting the table. It connects via Bluetooth to the Cook & Go App, so when you are following a recipe in the app, the timing and action cues are coordinated automatically.
The Audiotherm must be removed before the lid goes in the dishwasher and only wiped clean with a damp cloth.

When you cook from a recipe in the app, it communicates directly with the Audiotherm upon choosing the step-by-step cooking guidance.
